Virgin Holidays and Walt Disney World

The Brief

Virgin Holidays’ customers were visiting Walt Disney World but weren’t making the most of their time whilst there. They didn’t realise the full scope of different amusement parks it had, or the range of opportunities on offer.

Customers did know about the traditional Disney elements, but so much more was available. Magic, thrills, royalty and technology – something for every kind of personality in fact.

Our task was to find an engaging way to bring this to life through social media, to inform and inspire Virgin Holidays’ customers.

But the solution  also needed to represent both the Disney and Virgin Holidays’ brand personalities – with just enough sparkle and a generous helping of mojo!

The Strategy

Our insight was that customers, especially those with kids, are playful and therefore love a game. So we designed one that would  showcase all the exciting areas of the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.

Players were presented with a virtual suitcase and given Disney goodies to choose from to pack inside it. Each item was linked to a Disney experience and to pack it, players had to answer a related question.

Users then entered to win their suitcase of goodies and in the process, could find out what their Disney personality was – with a personalised certificate ready to download.

Created as a page on the existing Virgin Holidays brand website and seeded across Virgin Holidays’ social media pages, the site was brought to life with JavaScript animation and works across multiple devices.

We made the site responsive and mobile-friendly to help with SEO and broadened the horizons of interactivity.
