As Senior Artworker, I create and revise advertising and sales materials for print and for web. Most days I’ll be working with ad schedules or laying out brochures, catalogues and leaflets using established style guidelines. Clients are varied, taking in anything from trade shows to local arts venues.
I came to Designate from a similar role at a local design company, but my background (apart from a couple of years as a bassist in a Sheffield band – you won’t have heard of it!) is in travel. For years I trolled around the world for holiday companies with a camera bag and a lo-tech notepad before, as a logical progression, helping set up an in-house design department and catching the design bug.
Obsessions are (in no particular order of insanity) my Fender Strat, Rioja, fried Italian cars, the Bristol 411, history of WW1, Regents Park Theatre, Batham’s Bitter, France, Puerto Pollensa, 70s prog and John Martyn’s ‘Fine Lines’. Ooh and cheese, I like cheese.
