As a strategically-driven creative agency, everything we do is about connecting our clients' brands with customers. Audience Engagement is about first finding your customers and then finding the right way to talk to them. It could be online through Facebook, twitter or email. It could be offline through TV, DM or press. We're not just an advertising agency and we're not just a digital agency. We're more than that. Our skill lies in delivering the right compelling messaging to the right people.
There's an ever-changing market environment out there with new media channels constantly evolving and developing, especially online. But there's one constant and that's your audience. Their behaviour may change, the way they consume media may change, but at the heart of it they're people just like you and me. They're at the centre of our thinking and strategic insight.
We believe that digital and social platforms are a great way to engage audiences. But not the only way. They are also great research tools to complement and enhance more traditional methods. That informs our strategy and means creating a more powerful insight into customer behaviour. That in turn, builds and strengthens relationships. Just take a look at what we were able to for P&O Ferries for their recent 175th anniversary campaign.
Audience Engagement comes in many different forms. We've taken LV= from being ninth biggest insurer in the country to the third, delivering a mighty 696% up-swing in sales on the back of a predominantly TV-focussed campaign. Great creative is, after all, always engaging.
It's also about being useful, authentic and most of all, engaging. It's about understanding a channel is a delivery method, not an end in itself and that communication should be dialogue and not a monologue.
It's about being realistic. Don't just have a Facebook page because you feel you ought to, hoping this will attract new customers and then fill it with broadcast brand or service messages. Use it to properly engage with your audience: encourage them to talk to you on their terms, and then do something useful with the knowledge and relationships you gain.
And as the market evolves, we do too. We've introduced fresh thinkers to the company to inform our overall strategic approach especially in the form of Dean Harvey, formerly of iCrossing. Dean's speciality is brands' online presence and behaviour, something that chimes strongly with our agency's way of doing things.
