New Year, New City, New Job
A new year and new beginnings, that’s how I begin my 2018. Having lived in Bristol most of my life I decided it was time to experience something new. I got my job as a Senior Account Executive at Designate in December, which left me with one month to find somewhere to live, pack up my life, move three hours east whilst stuffing my face with all foods Christmassy and here I am! Four months into my new adventure and I wouldn’t change a thing.
It seems that I’ve joined Designate at a very exciting time, with lots of new projects, new clients and not forgetting celebrating 25 years of Designate!
Within my first few weeks of being here I was very much thrown into the deep end helping (where I could) with the upcoming launch for new LV= campaign whilst being inducted on all the clients I was going to be working on.
With all that was going on, before I knew it, it was my 25th birthday which was celebrated with lots of drinks and some questionable karaoke with the Account Handling girls. Since then, we’ve had two more birthdays in the account handling team followed with a recent trip to go see Flashdance in the theatre which has made us all want to discover our inner dancer – suggestions for good dance classes in Brighton welcome!
I’ve definitely been kept busy over the last three months, when one client quietens down another picks up and to be honest that’s just how I like it. In my time here, I’ve worked across print, digital, video, merchandise, event organisation and more. It also helps that I work with some crazy talented people and have learnt so much already in such a small space of time.
Thanks to the guys at Designate, I’ve managed to do my fair share of pub visits around the office and have been recommended some great places to eat that I am slowly but surely ticking off my list.
I’ve been promised great things about Brighton in the summer what with the crazy Designate Pride parties and this year’s almighty 25th party for Designate – did you hear it’s going to be the party of the year?
So, here’s to the summer, may it hold more trips to the beach, countless amounts of ice-cream and maybe the odd swim to counter balance it. It’s mad to think, this time last year I had never even been to Brighton and now this is where I call my home.
