We’re buzzing from a social media award nomination!

Good news time again! We’re proud to have been shortlisted in this year’s Social Buzz Awards (Best Travel/Leisure/Sports Social Media), for our recent work with TrekAmerica on the #iTrekHere project.

TrekAmerica is an award-winning small groups tour company, showing groups of travellers the USA, Canada, Alaska and Central America. Our brief was to produce a new and innovative campaign, using social influencers and TrekAmerica customers to build excitement around their product, whilst reaching a new audience and ultimately driving brand awareness.

The campaign needed to be fun and authentic, giving their target audience something real to identify with. And of course, to encourage new customers to book. We produced a tailor-made, content-led social campaign aimed at an 18-30s target audience called ‘i Trek Here’.

10 high-profile, influential bloggers were employed and sent on a TrekAmerica trip to create social buzz around their first Trek to southwest USA. We created a microsite to document their journey, using their experiences to inspire both their existing fans and the TrekAmerica audience.

To the best of our knowledge this is the first time anyone has gathered together 10 of the most influential youth bloggers and thrown them all together to go on holiday! Recording and broadcasting it live as we went.

Through a well thought out, structured and produced social campaign, which used social as its life blood, we saw great results in a short campaign period. Including a staggering:

• 32% growth in Instagram fans
• #iTrekHere reach of over 2 million
• 56 blogger blogs/vlogs/coverage resulting in 446k views and 22k YouTube views worth £418k!

So we’re hoping for another great result at the awards. The Social Buzz Awards celebrate the most effective social media campaigns and strategies. We’ll be trekking up to the Marriott Grosvenor Square in London on Wednesday 25th November, so wish us luck.
